"We found that girls perpetrate serious threats or physical violence more than boys at ages 12-14, but that boys become the more common perpetrators of serious threats or physical violence by ages 15-18." Elizabeth Mumford and Bruce Taylor, Lead researchers, NORC survey.
I read that and thought, "My goodness." Our society has changed so dramatically and I use that term on purpose. When I was growing up fighting was just between the boys and once the punch was thrown the fight was over. Doesn't seem to be the case with girls.

A Boy Without a Country - Jerusalem
Menachem Binyamin Zivotofsky just turned 12. He has been the subject of a legal battle for nearly his entire life. A tug of war exists between the Obama Administration and the Congress. The Obama administration warns this could "provoke uproar throughout the Arab and Muslim world." What is Menachem's offense? He was born in Jerusalem. Regarding an American passport, when someone is born in Jerusalem, Israel is not listed as the country. Stay tuned because the US Supreme Court will be deciding the case.

Missing Girl Found
Sabrina Allen, was abducted in 2002 at the age of 4 by her non-custodial mother. Sabrina was found in a secret rescue operation near Mexico City. the Mexican Federal Authority, FBI and U.S. Marshals worked together to rescue the now 17 year old girl. Both Sabrina and her alleged abductor, Dara Llorens, were flown back to the USA.
I love stories like this. I can't imagine the parents of Sabrina. This 17 year old girl will obviously be different. I wonder how she will cope with her new life.

No Touching
A Liberian child holds out his hand. The aid worker says, "No touching." Isolation and darkness is rooming across this country like an invisible monster. I can't imagine not being able to touch or if I did the fear that came along with it. Liberians don't know where the invisible, lethal Ebola virus might be. It gets on your hands, you rub your eyes and you are sick. Unimaginable with despair.
