Combating Human Trafficking and Transforming Lives
River City Assembly will be hosting a mission conference in November. Groups attending will address topics such as fighting modern-day slavery, transforming lives from life-controlling problems, and many other issues that face our world today.
"We would like to extend a warm welcome to the Yankton Region to experience what God is doing locally and globally," says Pastor Spencer Keroff, Lead Pastor at River City Assembly.
On Sunday, November 5th, at 10:00 am. Teen Challenge of the Dakotas. Participants of T.C. will share their testimonies of recovery, redemption, and freedom. They are located in Brookings, SD, and exist as a faith-based ministry to transform the lives of people with life-controlling problems.
"This would be a great service for anyone whose family has known the heartbreak and devastation of addiction," says Keroff.
Wednesday, November 8th at 6:30 pm. International F.R.E.E. Find Restore Embrace Empower. International. F.R.E.E. was founded in 2007 because founders Michael and Denise Bartel believed then, and still do, that every man, woman, and child should be free from slavery. The Bartels worked with Project Rescue out of Southern Asia to combat human trafficking and realized the issue was not just a foreign problem.
The USA is ranked in the top three worst countries in the world for human trafficking.
Upon the Bartels return to the United States, they founded F.R.E.E. International and continued the fight against modern-day slavery here in the States. They began with headquarters in New York City (now headquartered in Las Vegas) and worked nationwide to raise awareness about human trafficking, training local communities on mobilizing and effectively fighting slavery.
"We will have a time of worship, then hear a presentation from Michael Bartel on how to fight human trafficking around the world,” says Keroff. “Along with this, we’ll enjoy an international dessert banquet.” (If you’d like, but not required, sign up to bring your favorite international dessert by calling the church office.)
On Sundays, November 12th & 19th, at 10:00 am, the church will host fast-paced mission services filled with video, song, quick interviews with local and global missionaries, and many other surprises.
"Don't miss a second of these inspiring and life-changing services," says Keroff. "With our world in turmoil, with all the chaos, division and tumult nationally and internationally, come experience somehow Jesus is bringing His transforming life to the nations."
There will be a separate mission presentation for kids and a nursery available.
