When stationed aboard USS Kitty Hawk, I saw this scene many times. I'd sit on the fantail around sunset and watch the ship cut through the water. If there's one thing I miss about the Navy, it's this. Watching the ocean water churn, seeing the sun appear to plunge into the ocean, took me to a special place. Seeing pictures like this takes me back many years.
