Weekly Health Tip: Declarations

In Gone With the Wind, Scarlett O’Hara says: “I do declare, Frank Kennedy, if you don’t look dashing with that new set of whiskers!” There's power in a declaration. It's stronger than a "I want." The power comes in "I will." Declarations such as: I will become and stay healthy. I will develop and live in self-control. I will live my life to the fullest extent possible. What's your declaration? In my case, I make 5 "I am" statements each day. It's my daily declarations. After considering the day, I declare my determined goals. Am I looking at a potentially tough day? Then my "I am" statement is: I am strong. This works. It's like setting your destination in the GPS.  My health coach gave me a declaration early in my journey. Set your goal as pristine." At the end of the day, I want it to be a pristine day.
