Weekly Health Tip: Declarations

In Gone With the Wind, Scarlett O’Hara says: “I do declare, Frank Kennedy, if you don’t look dashing with that new set of whiskers!” There's power in a declaration. It's stronger than a "I want." The power comes in "I will." Declarations such as: I will become and stay healthy. I will develop and live in self-control. I will live my life to the fullest extent possible. What's your declaration? In my case, I make 5 "I am" statements each day. It's my daily declarations. After considering the day, I declare my determined goals. Am I looking at a potentially tough day? Then my "I am" statement is: I am strong. This works. It's like setting your destination in the GPS.  My health coach gave me a declaration early in my journey. Set your goal as pristine." At the end of the day, I want it to be a pristine day.

Fat Whoosh

There is nothing quite like being in a fat burn. More energy. Less hunger. Self-Control. It's not as hard as one thinks. If you're on track to lose weight, set it in your mind the first three days are going to be tough. Once those days are over, you are on a downhill slide.  As the picture shows, our fat cells will fill up with water. When the cell figures out it doesn't need to store fat, it will release the water. Thus, the "Woosh" factor.  I eat 6 times a day. 100 calorie fuelings, with one healthy meal. It keeps my levels level. I get more energy and that "feel good" feeling. So whoosh away

Weekly Health Tip: Planting

Spring is upon us. The farmers are in the fields planting to see a harvest in the Fall. If he looks to the sky to plant, he may not ever put the seed in the ground. It's the same way with us. We may not see immediate results. It may even be slow-going. The scale may not move the way you'd like. Keep planting. Muscles may not form to your specifications. Keep planting. Your ideal body may not be taking form as you'd like. Keep... You get the point. Endurance, persistence, and grit. Get a "stick-to-it ness." I'm fired up when I visit my future self. I don't look at today, I look at the harvest. And so can you. Keep the comments rolling in. I appreciate it.

Weekly Health Tip: Daily Routine

Following your daily routine is the key to being the best version of yourself. I wanted more sleep this morning. My habits motivated me into action. What's in motion tends to stay in motion. The opposite is also true. If I give into myself one day, the next will be more difficult.  What's your daily schedule? Follow it until it's you. In the words of Suess, "You are you and there's no one more youer that you. A daily routine will develop you. When muscles grow tired, more is built at that moment than otherwise. It's the same with our discipline. Since I pushed through and drug myself out of bed, I became stronger.  So, fire up the daily do and don't give yourself a break. (Unless you plan for it.) That's if you want the best life possible.
