If God created everything perfect, why are there poisonous plants and animals?
Before the Fall of Man, there were no poisonous plants and animals. But sin brought a curse to all the earth, a curse that brought pain and death to living creatures, and that also affected the plants. Thorns and thistles appeared—these are things that were not in existence before the curse (Genesis 3:18). The serpent was altered as punishment for its part in man’s sin (Genesis 3:14). Sin’s effect on the whole world brought about many changes to the perfection that once existed.
